He graduated from Pittsburg High and went on to UC Berkeley where he received both his Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Accounting. He later went on the pass the CPA exam. He started his career at John F. Forbes and Co. which later merged with Ernst and Young. While working at Forbes, George received extensive training in financial auditing, compilations and reviews, tax preparation for both corporate and individuals, partnerships, and auditing of nonprofit organizations.
After a number of years, George decided to realize his dream to be a business owner. He bought a small practice in Martinez, California and went on to grow his practice (while acquiring two other CPA firms) with two convenient locations in Martinez and San Ramon.
George’s wife Fillo, also a graduate from UC Berkeley with a degree in accounting, joined the firm after a ten year career with the IRS. Fillo pursued her career with the Federal government working as an IRS field agent. Fillo has extensive experience in IRS audits and assists in IRS audits and tax preparation for individuals and corporations.
George has served on the board of several nonprofit organizations. He has served as an advisor to many small businesses and individuals looking to improve their financials and grow their business. He also serves as a financial advisor to individuals assisting them with review of their current financial situation and advising them on how to improve their financial status.
George prepares a substantial numbers of tax returns and has extensive tax preparation experience. While preparing a tax return can be complex the work comes in reviewing not only the tax return but the total financial picture of the tax client. George takes pride in not only crunching out the numbers for the return but rather advising and helping the tax clients improve on their record keeping, advising on additional legal tax deductions and or credits that are available through the tax code. He also takes pride in maintaining a continuing, year-round relationship with his clients to advise in situations that may come up (such as a sale of a home, business etc.). George is just a phone call away.
George enjoys spending whatever free time he has with his family. He has three grown children and two beautiful grandchildren. He enjoys playing golf and is always looking to improve his swing. He also enjoys traveling (especially Hawaii) and spending time with friends.
